Orthodontist's Office

We love the creativity of our clients - it's a true partnership when we work with them to help them achieve their vision. An orthodontist who is a surfing aficionado wanted    a new surf - inspired practice and loved the end result. The clients really enjoy the waiting area with the aquarium, while the reception area features a full-sized terrarium.

Gilda's Club Fundraiser

On Friday November 26 from 7-10 PM  The Roxx downtown Barrie is the place to be -  where Pie Media Group will host Enrapture…The Society of Style - Barrie's first ever  fashion runway event featuring LG Fashion Week showcased designers.

The tickets are $25 and all proceeds go to Gilda's Club. Gilda's club mission is to create  a welcoming community of free support for everyone living with cancer - men, women, teens and children - along with their families and friends. Their  innovative program is an essential complement to medical care, providing networking and support groups, workshops, education and social activities. It promises to be a great evening. Tickets are available at Staples Design Group, 470 Huronia Rd, 705-721-8585

The Gilda's Club philosophy of providing an emotional and social support community as an essential complement to medical treatment when cancer is in the family enables the organization to serve as a beacon for the provision of health care services in the 21st Century.

The Simcoe Muskoka Gilda’s Club opened its doors in May of 2010. It provides a warm and welcoming meeting place, free of charge, where men, women and children of all ages can gather, informally to "be" in a community of others who are facing cancer. The Club’s innovative program is an essential complement to medical care, providing networking and support groups, workshops, education and social activities to anyone who feels they need support during a difficult time.

A true Artisan

If you've ever experienced the natural beauty where we live and work, you'll love these unique sculptures by local artisan Derek Green!

We're so lucky to be surrounded by talented artisans - and Derek Green is no exception. Staples Design Group's showroom at 470 Huronia Rd. is exhibiting select pieces - imagine these unique pieces of art as a special gift for someone.  Derek's creations combine realism with impressionism in a unique style that reflects his sense of humour and his profound sense of beauty.

Working with a variety of materials, including bronze, steel, marble, alabaster and dolomite, Derek transforms physical substances into animals, birds and human figures that long to be touched and felt.

Derek Green is a true artisan,  and his observation of the world came during a decade in both the Canadian and Merchant Navies. It was in Puerto Rico Derek found his calling  to sculpting, leading to a fine arts degree at a Philadelphia university.  Settling soon after in Southern Ontario, he began to gradually build the reputation for his work that he now enjoys, a true journey in artistic expression.
Stop by anytime to view Derek's work at our showroom in Barrie, 470 Huronia Road 705-721-8585.

Christmas Trends 2010

Time to get ready for Christmas!  The centre piece of any Christmas holiday is the tree, whether it is a fresh fragrant spruce or a space-saving synthetic.  Tinsel garland, long the standby of any tree, is losing favour as manufacturers create unique ornaments that quickly become collector's heirlooms. Exciting drama is created with a black Christmas tree - perfect for setting off eye-catching ornaments, like the silver ornaments that are popular this season.

1. Traditional Style

Take a page out of Christmas past by combining collectibles with  natural materials like wood, and traditional fabrics. Traditional Holiday colours are red, green, white and gold. A traditional Christmas can be a great social opportunity to create cranberry and popcorn garlands, gingerbread houses or simply get the family together to share in the spirit.

2.  Mixes of material and Colour

Last year, we saw a lot of jewel tones including turquoise and purple. This season, darker colours such as earthy browns and rich blues are contrasted with slivers of frost and whites. Start with a focal point and set it off with mixes of colour.  The important thing here is to repeat the colours or theme in the room and keep it simple and fun!

3. Elegant Sparkle
Go for full-on glamour with metallic bronzes, golds and silvers. To create added excitement, experiment with contrasting natural textures and materials such as exotic feathers and wooden beads. Blasts of colour such vibrant apple green, citron and mauve lighten up the sparkle and add to an elegant decor.

This year you can scratch holiday decorating off your  to-do list and leave it to us!

Staples Design Group will take your vision for home or office  and turn it into a reality. Whether you want to create a warm, welcoming all-natural decor or go for all-out sparkle and glam, we’ll achieve the look you are after. Call our design showroom at 705-721-8585 and we'll gladly provide:
