Karim states:"Colour is one of the most beautiful phenomena of our existence. ... colour is life and a way of dealing with and touching our emotions, our psyche, and our spiritual being."

Karim Rashid is a visionary who believes design is about the betterment of our lives aesthetically, experientially, sensorially, and emotionally. Rashid's  real desire is to see people participate in the contemporary world, and to release themselves from antiquated traditions.  Look for Genaah Squire's interview in the upcoming issue of Pie magazine

Artist's Showcase

"The Governor" oil on board, 16"X20"

We're always on the look out for unique, one-of-a-kind pieces for our showroom, and it's great to be located in an area with so many talented artisans.

Micheal Kilburn's  organic earthy palette is inspired by plein air paintings from their Kawagama Lake cottage in Halibuton. Many of the works feature landscapes near the artist's second home in Long Cove, Newfoundland, as well as from their travels in Ireland, Scotland and France. Stop by for a cup of tea and check out  Micheal's new work in our new showroom.

We're excited to be displaying the work of another local artisan, Sandra Silberman, otherwise known as Dotti Potts, who is originally from South Africa. Her unique ceramic work is individually hand formed. Eye - catching texture is created by either, stamping, or slip-forming. All of us in the studio agreed Dotti's work complements the contemporary furniture.

Dotti Potts combines elements of printmaking, drawing and collage

Dotti also has a great line of collectible porcelain jewellery. Glazes are hand painted on each pendant and fired 2 or 3 times in a kiln, making each a wearable piece of art. Perfect for gift giving !!!
